Steps to Smoothie Franchise Ownership
Deciding to take the first step toward ownership is exciting! You feel optimistic about the future and proud that you’re following your entrepreneurial dreams. If you’re looking at smoothie franchise opportunities and are curious about the Smoothie King process, you’re in the right place!
1. Complete the Initial Application Online
To begin the ownership process, you’ll want to start by completing our online franchise application. We’ll review your information to see if you meet our qualifications and requirements, and if you do, we’ll notify you of our mutual interest.
2. Connect with a Franchise Development Director
During the second step, we’ll connect you with a franchise development director. Here, you’ll learn more about Smoothie King, our culture and vision, and the consideration process. You’ll have the chance to ask our team any questions you may have about our franchise opportunity.
3. Perform Candidate Due Diligence
As part of the third step, you’ll complete a franchise application for Smoothie King to evaluate, including your financial statements, credit history, and background. We’ll provide you with a copy of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) to review, and we encourage you to reach out to other franchisees as due diligence to learn more about our systems and ensure we’re the best fit for you.
4. Attend Discovery Day and Gain Leadership Team Approval
Once our scheduled calls are completed and we’ve received all required documents, we’ll contact you to schedule your Discovery Day visit to our home office in Dallas, TX. Discovery Day is a great opportunity to learn more about Smoothie King from an insider perspective and acts as an interview for all parties before you’re awarded a franchise. You’ll receive an in-depth presentation from key departments, meet our executive staff and management team, and have the chance to visit an existing location to experience front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
5. Your Franchise Is Awarded!
After you receive your franchise agreement, you’ll wait seven calendar days before executing your agreement and sending in the initial franchise fee of $30,000. Once we receive and finalize your agreement and franchise fee, you’re officially a Smoothie King franchisee!
6. Attend Orientation and Training
You’ll attend our required one-day orientation class, where we’ll discuss all the steps involved in owning a smoothie shop, including budgeting, financing, planning, site selection, ordering, construction, and more. This class should be scheduled and completed within the first 60 days of becoming a franchisee. Once orientation is complete, you’ll schedule a meeting with our real estate department to begin the site selection process – the first step toward opening your location!
Once your store opening gets closer, you’ll attend our four-week training program. Training classes are held at our home office and are required for all franchisees and managers. Over the course of the comprehensive, hands-on franchise training program, you’ll learn core product knowledge and our operational systems.
7. Your Store Opens!
Your grand opening is the day you’ve been working for – and now it’s time to celebrate your store! Our franchise support team will be there to guide you along the way and will continue to provide you with ongoing support to ensure your new store is a success!
