Smoothie King is growing across the country and has identified the Northeast as a target region for continued expansion. Most recently, the brand announced the signing of a 10-unit development agreement to bring new smoothie franchises to Albany, NY.
To expound on Smoothie King’s development strategy in Albany and surrounding areas, Smoothie King’s Vice President of Franchise Development Shawn Caric sat down with Albany’s Times Union. During the interview, Caric dove into the local growth opportunity for Smoothie King and surrounding suburbs, mentioning the loyal customer base at its Clifton Park location, which helped inspire the desire for additional area expansion.

The 10-unit expansion in Albany helps showcase that nourishing and convenient food options that inspire people to live a healthy lifestyle are desired during all times of the year. The winter months may be cold in the Northeast, but data indicates that smoothies are still in high demand no matter the climate.
“It is important for us to show the Northeast that smoothies are not only enjoyable in the warm weather. In Clifton Park, customers have gravitated towards the “immune support” blends this winter,” Caric continues.
To continue to meet the demands of customers in Albany and across the country, Smoothie King’s menu has evolved. The brand recently launched Power Meal smoothies and Gut Health smoothies, as well as other purposeful classics including smoothies that fuel energy, manage weight, boost one’s fitness regimen and more. Smoothie King has aggressive development plans this year and is looking to add more than 200 new store commitments to their development pipeline this year.
