Our experience with choosing to be a Smoothie King Franchisee has been wonderful! From the very first meeting in Rye, NY when we attended a "Discovery Day" and met with Steve Shields and Natalie Johnson we have felt like we are part of one huge family. Smoothie King Corporate offers excellent Franchisee support and they go above and beyond in their willingness to help us be successful. Anytime we need help we can speak to anyone at corporate headquarters including Steve or Cindy Kuhnau. This experience has been excellent for us and we enjoy dealing with our guests and being part of their healthy lifestyle plan. We also enjoy giving back to the community by supplying smoothies for many charity events. We just opened our drive-thru at our current location over the weekend and the experience just continues to get better!
Proper training is the key to a well-run franchise. As a Smoothie King franchisee, you will receive professional, across-the-board training and ongoing support both at the Smoothie King training center in Metairie, La. and on-site at your own Smoothie King location.
Smoothie King franchisee training and ongoing support includes three phases:
This one-day introduction session, held at the Smoothie King home office in Metairie, La., is designed to introduce new franchisees to the Smoothie King system, culture and pre-opening procedures. During this education session, topics such as your budget, business planning, financing, site selection, construction and equipment ordering are covered.
This initial, twelve-day management-training program is mandatory for all new Smoothie King franchisees and is conducted monthly at the Smoothie King training center in Metairie, La. The comprehensive, hands-on, classroom training covers core product knowledge and operative systems.
Just prior to opening your new Smoothie King franchise, a Smoothie King representative will be sent to your location to assist with your opening and to conduct seven days of in-store training. During this phase of training, your team will be educated on general store procedures and systems, ordering, budgeting, and proper cleaning, opening and closing procedures. Additional blending training, team member training, inventory and product management, paperwork management, marketing and other matters necessary to the opening and operation of your location will also be addressed during this time.
